He’s here! {Ann Arbor Newborn Photographer}

I am happy to announce that my little guy arrived in October. We are all enamored with him and have enjoyed the time to adjust to having a baby in the home again! J and Miss P adore him and it has been so cute to watch them with him. They want to help with everything from changing diapers to feeding the occasional bottle. They lay with him on the floor during tummy time and will run any little errand I ask them to on behalf of their brother. It is great!

I am hoping to start updating here again soon. This past year was a crazy one for our family…from being pregnant and having a baby to having my hubby living away for an internship last summer, it was a very busy year. I am looking forward to all this new year holds and taking lots of pictures in the process!

Fall is here again!! Ann Arbor, Michigan Children’s Photographer

I love this time of year…the crispness in the air, apple cider, donuts, decorations. It all makes my soul happy! This year I am enjoying it in smaller doses as I wait for baby boy to arrive any day. It is so fun to have my kiddos at an age where they will cooperate (or at least can be bribed to cooperate) to take pictures. I packed them up after Jackson got out of school one day and with a friend headed over the the apple orchard. They were such great sports, considering that there were swarms of mosquitos there!! I hope to go back again tomorrow (if I can muster up the energy) and try again with my hubby in tow. He seems to be able to get them to really smile!

I can’t claim this little cutie as my own, but the picture was too cute not to share!!

The L Family- Ann Arbor, Michigan Family Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family while I was out west a few weeks ago. I hadn’t seen them since their little girl was days old so it was so fun to reconnect, see how she had grown and take some family portraits for them. It was so hot out (though I have learned, since living in the midwest, that there is a BIG difference between humid heat and dry heat. None the less, it was a toasty day and they were troopers!!

When I found out that my hubby would be spending his summer doing an internship in St. Louis, my first thought should have been about where he would live or something along those lines, but instead I immediately thought, I know a great photographer in St. Louis and I wonder if she would be interested in trading family sessions. I contacted her and was thrilled when she did want to trade!! So, we were out visiting Douglas this past week and we met up and had a great time swapping family photo sessions. Happy Birthday to my Little Miss-Ann Arbor Children’s Photographer

I took Miss P out for her annual 5-10 minute birthday shoot. It is a good thing I don’t expect much more with my kids, because they aren’t going to give it! I was completely thrilled with the shots we got and then proceeded to follow her around for a few “candid” shots. She didn’t like that one bit and in her sassy little voice said, “I thought you said we were done.” Geesh…if only she could know how much she will some day appreciate my photography obsession.

Now, I still need to get J out for his birthday shoot (he turned 6 in February). The winter was an unmotivating time of year to photograph anything. Hopefully I will be back soon with some of him!

Well, hello again-Ann Arbor Children’s Photographer

I have finally awakened from my long winter’s nap. Not that winter is over here in Ann Arbor, but it had to end. Did you know that the high is 48* today. 48*. Should I mention that May begins on Sunday {sigh}. My camera has taken a long winter nap as well. So, I was very happy to have a GREAT reason to dust it off and do what I love again. These cute kiddos are friends of a client from Vegas…small world, right?!?

They are such beautiful kids and it was so easy to photograph them. Mom brought loads of cute clothes which I love! As usual, the almost two year old gave me a run for my money…they always seem to do that. It is almost like they have a mind of their own!
