Five on Friday-St. George Family Photographer

Posted on March 26, 2010

This picture has nothing to do with this post, but this is a photography blog…I had to have something, right??1. So, have I mentioned that we are moving?? Yes, it is sad, but true. Actually it is very exciting in many ways, but will be so hard to leave so many great friends and a beautiful area. My hubby is going back to school to get an MBA…yes, we will be students again. This time with two kids. Wish me luck. I say me, because I think the transition will be hardest on me. It should be a fun adventure too, right??

2. As part of the great move, we have to sell our house. This project has consumed my life. You see, I am a pack rat. I mean, I don’t save totally useless junk, but I have a lot of hobbies which involve a lot of stuff. I have been slowly weeding through my things since the first of the year. I have gotten rid of a lot, but there is still SO MUCH to do. Don’t worry though, I have a week to get it all done before we list the house. A WEEK…(breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out.) Needless to say, this is the reason I have been fairly absent from the blogging world. Let’s hope once we have it up things will be a little calmer for a while.

3. Could spring just come, and stay. The cold weather is starting to make me really grumpy. I live in the desert for heavens sake. I need at least a little spring so I can endure the HOT summer.

4. I still have a couple of mini session spots available. I pushed them back a bit so I will start them in April. This whole school thing has thrown us a little curve ball (my hubby was offered a LARGE scholarship to a school other than the one we had finally decided to go to) and we are having to fly out to Michigan for 4 days at the start of April.

5. Anyone lived in Michigan? Sounds cold. Would love some reassurance that I will love it if we end up out there!

I am so thrilled that it is finally warming up and want to celebrate! I only offer mini sessions once a year and now is the time to get out those cute Easter clothes and schedule a session. This is a great way to capture your children when the weather is beautiful and green. Sessions are limited, so contact me soon! Newborns are excluded.

Mine On Monday-St. George Photographer

Posted on March 15, 2010

J Man…he has been called that since he was a wee thing. His cousins and friends even refer to him as “J-Man” and it suits him. Love this guy. He is the child that compells me to read book after book on parenting and dealing with strong wills, but when he chooses to be, he can be the most tender, kind hearted little man. He has a strong personality, but I just know that if I can channel it right, he will turn out to be an amazing adult. He says the funniest thing and has the cutest little lisp.  Last night he came out of his room around 9pm (goes to bed at 7pm). When my hubby took him back to bed, J said, “Dad, I have something I need to tell you. I have been pwaying my weepster for a few hours now. I am so sowrry.” Little stinker was in his dark room playing his Leapster! We got a good laugh out of that one!

Mine On Monday-Southern Utah Photographer

Posted on March 11, 2010

okay, so I realize that it isn’t Monday, but seriously, it wasn’t until half way through editing this picture that it dawned on me. I was gone the first three days this week at a big photography convention in Vegas (more on that soon) and so I have felt like it was Monday ALL. DAY. LONG.  I took this picture last week and had plans on posting it Monday, so we will just pretend. This is my little miss P. I made bird feeders with the kids last week and after hanging them up and cleaning up the mess, I came  out to her cleaning out the peanut butter container, with her hand. She is so her father’s child!

Happy to report that she is back to her usual, feisty self. Her tonsils healed up fine and she doesn’t snore anymore. This is good and bad…bad because in the past when I laid down to nap with her, it would be a quick 20 minute cat nap on my part until her snoring kicked in. Now, two hours later I am awaking from a dead sleep to find her already up and doing her thing.  (that is also a good thing…the sleeping part, because who doesn’t love a good nap!)
