Mine on Monday-St. George, Utah Family Photographer
Posted in Mine on Monday!, Miss P
I know, I know, it is Tuesday, but it’s raining and that really put a damper on my fun idea. Plus, life just slows down when it rains, right? And, it was a holiday. All great excuses why I am barely posting this before it is officially Wednesday.
This isn’t what I had planned originally, but I really wanted to capture my sweet Miss P. She is such a little character and I often find her all decked out in her princess garb, with food in her purse, cell phone in hand, and plenty of accessories. You have to love little girls. She is just that too…a girly girl. Wow, she goes through more clothes than I ever imagined a child could. She changes multiple times each day, changes hair accessories and SOCKS. I had to move her socks out of her reach because I no longer have any matching ones. She is obsessed with putting socks on for 10 minutes and then leaving them wherever she finds herself…the trampoline, behind chairs, bathroom floor, car.
She has outdone my son when it comes to busy-ness. This child is NON-STOP. The energy never runs out. She is constantly into mischief…she flooded my bathroom floor (took 10 towels to clean it) yesterday when she insisted I give her “pwivacy” in the bathroom (yes, I know that was a lack of judgement on my part!). She gets hair product out and applies it liberally whenever she can sneak off to the bathroom. She loves to get into my makeup, dump things out, and make messes.
Yet, she is everything I ever hoped for in a little girl. She is fun, cute, feisty, outgoing, and has the cutest curly hair and raspy voice. And, despite all my flaws as a mom, she adores me. It is always me that she wants to snuggle with. She always asks, “when you be home” if I am leaving without her and is so excited when I return. She makes me laugh and cry in the same moment. So here she is…isn’t she a cutie? I sure think so.
The second picture I titled, “someday my prince will come” and that smile in the last….my children have a hard time coming up with a normal smile when I take pictures. She doesn’t have an underbite, but she insisted on smiling with one…whatever floats her boat!
Five On Friday (St. George, Utah Photographer)
Posted in Five on Friday
What is “Five on Friday”, you ask?? Well, it is a blogging idea I got from a fellow photographer where I can talk about any five things I want on Fridays. How fun is that? Really, for those who know me, you know that talking about random things comes very easily to me. What I really want from this, though is for others to share their opinions on what I say as well (and if you think I am totally crazy, you can say it, just please say it nicely…HA!) So, here we go. Here are a few of the things that have been stewing in my brain this past week for this post.
1. I {HEART} popcorn. Really, mildly obsessed. I think what I really like is that I can eat a lot and not feel guilty (as long as I don’t smother it in butter–YUM!). I got an air popper for Christmas and have used it many a time since then. Did you know that yellow popcorn pops much larger and fluffier than white?? It is true. What is your favorite snack??
2. This is a fantastic toy…
It is called “Frigits” and it is a magnetic marble run for the refrigerator. My kids aren’t toy kids, but they have spent so much time constructing these while I cook dinner or clean. It is so nice. And, it is fun for adults too! You can buy it at Amazon.com.
3. So, I just watched the first season of the show “GLEE”. Very cute and creative show. I spend a lot of time on the computer editing photos and I like to go to different networks to see what shows they have available to watch. Here are some of my favorites:
Burn Notice–fantastic writing. Love the characters and story lines.
Brothers and Sisters–true drama and very engaging. I make the hubster watch sometimes and so tonight when I turned an episode on while making dinner he had me fill him in on what had happened since he last watched.
Castle–good mystery show, fun characters and not too bloody.
The Office–really, need I say more?
V–I remember watching the old one and so when they came out with the new, I was anxious to watch. I have really enjoyed it!
Dancing With the Stars–fun.
Frasier–So, so funny.
I could go on, but I will stop. I would love your suggestions on other great shows. I am always looking for something good!
4. I love this foodie blog. Check it out if you enjoy cooking. Everything I have tried has turned out great!
5. Decided to paint my bedroom. Can’t wait to post some after pics!
-
Love 5 on Friday’s! Love that frigits toy – going to have to check it out! Thanks!
-
Love your five! The frigits is a cool idea, I might have to get some of those.
-
Love your list. You know how I feel about popcorn. I “heart” it too! Love those fridgits! Wish my stainless was magnetic.
Brothers & Sisters – fabulous show! (I love that you make D watch it sometimes! Awesome!) I need to get back into Glee. Started watching it a little when it first started, and haven’t watched anymore. Love that foodie blog. The pictures are fabulous. -
Ok that toy looks amazing!!
-
mmmm I am a popcorn-aholic too!! LOVE it.
-
Thanks for sharing – love the Frigits!
-
Oooooh, can’t wait to see your finished bedroom! How exciting! Gosh, list of shows over here that we watch on hulu (when we can!). Good place to check out if you haven’t already! TFS your 5!
-
fun stuff stacia! we used to play wth a toy like that at my grandma’s when i was a kid!
-
I love your 5 on Friday.
You should try watching accidentally on purpose. Very cute. -
Love your five on friday post!
And Im off to find those frigit magnets! I need something to keep my kiddos out of trouble when im cooking dinner!
-
I like your “Five on Friday”! Those Frigits look really fun. I have never even heard of them. I too love the show Glee. It is really cute. Can’t wait to see your bedroom all painted!
-
What a fun idea for a post. So, my favorite snack that isn’t too calorie laden is Cheese Nips. Not Cheez-its but Cheese Nips. And, you know I love Glee and I also love Grey’s Anatomy and Lost.

okay, okay…so I am embarrassed that I am (insert nervous cough) 5 days late on announcing the winner of my Target gift card. I don’t really have a good excuse except that I am a mom and sometimes am overcome by mom brain and that I have spent all my free time this week sewing and creating. So, without further ado, the winner is:
#9-Chelsey! Hooray for you! Email me your address and I will get it sent out this next week. Thank you to all who participated. Keep checking back for another contest in the coming weeks!!

This beautiful lady is my 93 year old grandma. I have had the privledge to live down the street from her for the past 6 years and it has been such a blessing. My kids adore her as she does them. She spoils them like a great grandma (Grams) should. She is also such a friend to me. We get together every Sunday evening to watch the Masterpiece Classic. She is spunky and smart even at her age. I sure love you Grandma!
-
Stace–this is a gorgeous picture. I can’t believe she is 93! She looks fantastic! I loved my great grandma too…I have so many happy memories of her. You are lucky your kids will have that.
Did you get my message about tomorrow?
-
awwww. How fabulous for you and your kids! Beautiful photo too!
-
What a beautiful picture!! Grandparents are the best, aren’t they???
-
What a cute Grandma she is! I love that she is 93 and you would never know it! I’m sure your kids have helped to keep her young!
-
I love it, I love it, I love it!! I just might need a copy.
-
She looks amazing, and definitely younger then 93. I am glad you and your children can have so many happy memories.
-
lovely portrait of your grandma, and looking good for 93..
-
What a beautiful image Stacia!
-
This is such a treasure Staci!
-
I can see where the good looks come from in your family
-
Such a good picture of her Staci! You are lucky to have her close as she is lucky to have you!
-
Oh Stacia, this just made me so happy. Thank you for sharing – it’s so wonderful to be close to our grandparents & ’share them’ with their great grandkids – isn’t it!
-
She’s beautiful! You’re so lucky to have her down the street from you!!!
-
I love this photo! I am about to e-mail you an order of our old, old family shoot, and I think I might ask for a print of this one, too. Thanks for posting this.
-
What a beautiful picture. Your grandma is so pretty. She definitely does not look 93 years old! You are lucky to live so close to her!
-
Emily,
Just let me know what you want and I will get it for you!! Staci -
What an amazing gift to give to your children and yourself; I mean living near your grandmother. I lost my grandparents at age 6 to a car wreck, and sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have grandparents like “everyone else”. I envy you in a good way and think it is so great how you make time for each other.

Wow. Have I ever mentioned that I love photographing babies. In fact, I am the eensiest (is that a word) bit baby hungry these days (shhh…don’t tell my hubby, he will think I am certifiably crazy). How can you not love these sweet little things? They don’t argue, they don’t make big messes, they don’t get into trouble everytime you turn your back. In fact, the worst they do is cry which lets me hold them close and smell that delicious new baby smell.
Anyway, she was a sweet little thing and I greatly enjoyed photographing her!

p.s. don’t forget to enter my first contest. I will be choosing a winner on Sunday!!
-
She is beautifully squishy!

She’s adorable!

Mine On Monday (St. George Photographer)
Posted in Mine on Monday!
Well, this one will be a little different this week because I need to pay homage to a little friend who will forever hold a dear place in my heart. You see, about three weeks ago my sweet little puppy was hit by a car in front of my house and died. It has been a very hard thing for me. I am a dog lover and this little guy was the best dog you could ask for. It was really quite weird. I am very vigilant about not letting him out, but sometime between putting my kids to bed and meeting with a client he slipped out unnoticed and being so black and not street savvy I think was a bad combination. Anyway, I wanted to share a few of the things I loved about Strider.
He loved EVERYONE. You called him and he came.
He would always perch up on the back of my couch. I called him my little kitty cat.
We have a laser light and if we shined it on the ground he would chase it all over the house. It amused us for great lengths of time.
He would occasionally do the “Indie 500″…just race figure eights around the house or yard as fast as he could for no apparent reason.
If I ever got out of bed at night, for any length of time, when I returned he would be in my spot keeping it warm. He would then jump down and get on his bed.
He could shake, play dead and roll over. He would get so excited when he saw a treat though that he would do all three. I guess he figured one had to work.
He would have seizures on a fairly regular basis.
In the morning I would let him get on the bed with me and I could scratch under the covers and he would pounce at it…another reason I called him my kitty.
I could go on and on. He has been sorely missed in our home. He was a little friend and sweet little dog. He will be forever missed.

Just ignore the fact that my son has no pants on. That was a long phase for him that luckily has passed
.

Another Cute Baby Boy (St. George Newborn Photographer)
Posted in Newborns
This has been a busy month for newborns. It is a nice change of pace after a crazy few months of family shoots. Some babe’s will let me move and contort them into weird shapes. Others are perfectly content as long as I don’t try to touch or move their little arms. This little guy was the later. He was a happy little guy with clear ideas of where he wanted his arms
. None the less, we got many beautiful shots. Here are just a couple…

-
Oh, he’s adorable. Love his lil’ lips!!!!
-
Awwww! I love when their little personalities shine through at this age – so cute. And look at those adorable lips!
-
What a cutie. I love the second pose just so serene.
